Aflac
Aflac flew from Richmond County Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport on Wednesday, a 1-hour 8-minute hop in the Gulfstream G280 registered N280AF. The flight arrived just after 7 p.m. local time, capping a day that began well south of the company's Columbus, Georgia headquarters.
The same week, Aflac is holding formal investor meetings in the New York metro area, per a company filing with the SEC. The agenda emphasizes the company's Japan segment, which accounts for roughly three-quarters of Aflac's adjusted earnings. Aflac's chief executive Daniel Amos is expected to lead the sessions, which analysts at Morningstar noted this week are a regular mid-year check-in on supplemental insurance performance in a softening yen environment.
The New York-area landing is a familiar pattern for N280AF. The aircraft has made five trips to or from the tri-state region in the past week alone, including stops in Boston and Atlanta, home to Aflac's largest U.S. operational hub. For an insurer whose business is split across two continents, Newark is less a destination than a connection point to the investment community that pays closest attention.
