Ameriprise
Ameriprise Financial’s Gulfstream G450, tail N612AF, flew from Little Plum Creek Airport in Colorado to Easton Airport on Maryland’s Eastern Shore on June 1, a 2-hour-16-minute hop that arrived just after 7 p.m. local time. The aircraft, operated by the Minneapolis-based wealth-management firm, had spent the previous day in Connecticut before returning to its home base at Minneapolis-St. Paul.
The same week, the Securities Industry and Financial Institutions Association holds its Private Client Conference in Washington, D.C., about 50 miles southwest of Easton, per the SIFMA events calendar. The conference, running June 2–4, draws wealth-management executives and asset managers — Ameriprise’s core business. CEO Jim Cracchiolo or senior lieutenants often attend such gatherings to network with peers and regulators, making the Easton airport a convenient gateway to the nation’s capital.
The flight follows a pattern: Ameriprise’s G450 regularly visits Washington-area airports (KIAD) and has made multiple trips to the Northeast in recent weeks. Landing at Easton rather than a busier hub like Dulles or Reagan suggests a preference for speed and discretion — the Eastern Shore field offers quick customs clearance and easy road access to D.C. for a firm that keeps a low profile even as it manages over a trillion dollars in client assets.
