Caesars flew from Washington Dulles International Airport to Van Nuys Airport on May 31, a five-hour hop across the country aboard its Gulfstream V, N898CE. The landing at KVNY came after a brief stopover in the nation's capital, following recent activity that included a flight from Louisville to Washington, D.C. on May 28 and a California-to-Louisville leg earlier that day.
The same week Caesars touched down in Los Angeles, California state legislators reintroduced a bill to legalize mobile sports betting, per a May 30 report from the Sacramento Bee. Caesars Entertainment, operator of Caesars Palace and Harrah's and run by CEO Tom Reeg, has long lobbied for a regulated online market in the state, one of the largest untapped gambling markets in the U.S. A senior company executive recently told Gambling.com that California remains "the single biggest opportunity" for the industry.
Van Nuys has seen repeated visits from Caesars aircraft this month. The Gulfstream V flew from Van Nuys to Louisville on May 28 and back on May 22, when it also shuttled to Bend, Oregon, and Bismarck, North Dakota. The pattern suggests a mix of executive travel and high-roller transport, and this week's D.C.-to-L.A. routing — bookended by political and regulatory business — looks like a deliberate move to be present when the conversation on California sports betting heats up.
