Chevron flew from Sugar Land Regional Airport to Midland International Air and Space Port on June 1, 2026, a short 79-minute hop in the company's Boeing Business Jet, tail number N884GL. The flight arrived at 1:26 p.m. local time, touching down in the heart of the Permian Basin — the most productive oil field in the United States.
The same week, Midland is hosting the Permian Strategic Partnership annual meeting and the Texas Energy Summit, both running from June 1 through June 3 at the Midland Convention Center, per the Midland Chamber of Commerce press release issued on May 27. Chevron's CEO Mike Wirth is listed among the keynote speakers for a panel titled “The Next Decade of Permian Development,” covering infrastructure, emissions reductions, and drilling permits. The conference draws upstream executives and regulators from across the basin.
The Midland visit fits a broader pattern visible in Chevron’s recent flight logs. On May 20, the same Boeing Business Jet made two trips between Houston-area airports and Midland-Odessa, followed by a series of movements around the Gulf of Mexico and Venezuela. The frequency confirms that Chevron uses its heavy iron for both executive transport to strategic meetings and high-level operational oversight in the Permian, where it holds some 2 million net acres.
