ConocoPhillips
ConocoPhillips flew from Houston Bush Intercontinental to Midland International Air and Space Port on Tuesday, May 19, an 84-minute hop in its Embraer ERJ-145XR, N284CP. The shuttle landed at 5:53 p.m. local time, continuing what has been a near-daily pattern of flights between the company’s headquarters and the heart of the Permian Basin.
The trip arrives the same week ConocoPhillips is absorbing the implications of its first-quarter 2026 results, released April 30. Per the company’s own earnings statement, organic growth from the Lower 48 helped offset downtime elsewhere, and capital spending for 2026 is expected to rise to $12–$12.5 billion, including “incremental Permian activity.” Midland is the operational nerve center for that activity — the airport that serves the region’s drilling and completions crews.
Tuesday’s flight is typical of the shuttle service ConocoPhillips began using the E145 for earlier this month, per Hamden Aviation. The aircraft is based at Houston Intercontinental and runs employees to Midland, Carlsbad, Bartlesville and Williston. With the company still funneling capital into Permian development and the summer work season ramping up, the plane is likely moving the people needed to keep those wells on schedule.
