ConocoPhillips
ConocoPhillips flew from Cavern City Air Terminal in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Midland International Air and Space Port in Texas on Wednesday evening, a 45-minute hop across the Permian Basin in its Embraer ERJ-145XR (N284CP).
The flight arrives the same week ConocoPhillips is adjusting to a lower production forecast after Iran conflict disruptions knocked out about a sixth of Qatar’s LNG export capacity, per a Reuters report via EnergyNow.com. The company has also made news with a landmark gasfields deal in Syria and a 30-year gas supply agreement for the Alaska LNG project, as covered by World Oil and Simply Wall St. Yet its bread-and-butter remains the Lower 48, which produced 1.45 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in the first quarter, led by the Delaware Basin — the very region this flight traverses.
The trip follows a pattern of frequent crew shuttles between ConocoPhillips’ Houston headquarters and the Midland hub, as well as recent moves from Williston, North Dakota, near the Bakken. For a company navigating macro volatility, the Permian remains the steady hand.
