ConocoPhillips operated its Embraer ERJ-145XR, tail N284CP, on a short hop from Houston Bush Intercontinental to Midland International Air & Space Port on June 17, 2026 — a routine crew shuttle to the Permian Basin, where the company maintains extensive drilling operations.
The same week, ConocoPhillips signed a deal with the Syrian Petroleum Company to redevelop onshore gas fields, the first major entry by a U.S. oil and gas company into postwar Syria, per reports from Energy Connects and Simply Wall St. Chairman and CEO Ryan Lance said the agreement lays the groundwork for restoring Syria's natural gas production, which the government sees as central to rebuilding its power plants and industrial sector.
The Midland shuttle is a familiar pattern for ConocoPhillips: the aircraft has flown between Houston and Midland-Odessa multiple times in recent days, reflecting the company's steady focus on Permian Basin operations even as it pursues international opportunities in Syria and a 30-year gas supply deal for the Alaska LNG project, announced in May.
