Costco Wholesale
Costco Wholesale flew from Boeing Field in Seattle to San Diego International Airport on May 12 in its Gulfstream G280, tail N82CW. The 2-hour-46-minute trip arrived at 2:55 p.m. local time, according to flight data.
The same week, Costco Wholesale reported April net sales of $23.92 billion, up 13 percent from a year earlier, per a May 6 press release on GlobeNewswire. The company also announced plans to open a new warehouse in North Visalia, California, within two weeks, as covered by AOL on May 7. San Diego, home to one of Costco Wholesale’s 637 U.S. warehouses, serves as a frequent West Coast stop for the fleet.
The flight follows a pattern of short-haul trips in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest earlier this month, including visits to Chicago, Portland, and Duluth. Costco Wholesale’s four-aircraft fleet — three G280s and one G650ER — supports a management culture that remains unusually flat for a Fortune 50 retailer, with CEO Ron Vachris often traveling to warehouse openings and regional meetings.
