Costco Wholesale flew from San Diego to Del Norte International Airport in Monterrey on May 13, 2026, a 2-hour 13-minute hop aboard its Gulfstream G280, tail N82CW. The flight touched down just as the company prepares to open a new warehouse in the city this month.
The same week, Costco Wholesale is opening what a company announcement described as “Latin America’s biggest Costco” in Monterrey, per an AOL report on the retailer’s 2026 expansion plans. The warehouse is one of roughly 30 new locations the company aims to open annually over the next five to ten years, CEO Ron Vachris said during a March earnings call covered by The Globe and Mail. Monterrey is also a recurring destination for the company’s four-aircraft fleet, which includes three Gulfstream G280s and one G650ER.
The trip follows a pattern of executive travel to major expansion markets. In the days before, Costco Wholesale’s aircraft moved between Seattle, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Portland — typical routes connecting the Issaquah headquarters to operational hubs. The Monterrey visit suggests senior leadership is on site for the opening, consistent with the company’s flat management culture and hands-on approach to new warehouses.
