David Geffen
David Geffen flew from Van Nuys Airport to Camarillo International Airport on June 3, a 22-minute hop that barely got above 3,900 feet. The Gulfstream G650, tail N221DG, departed just after midnight and touched down 23 miles west.
The same week, per the event calendar of the Chouinard Foundation, the annual garden party and art auction takes place in nearby Ojai on June 6. The invitation-only gathering draws major collectors and West Coast philanthropists, and David Geffen is a known attendee. The foundation, focused on environmental and arts grants, counts among its board several of Geffen’s peers from the entertainment and collecting worlds.
The brief evening flight follows a pattern of quick movements across Southern California this week. Two days prior, the same aircraft shuttled between the central valley and Los Angeles area. While David Geffen keeps homes in Beverly Hills, New York, and Aspen, the Camarillo airport provides a convenient doorstep to the Ojai valley’s cultural circuit.
