Dominion Energy flew from Columbia Metropolitan Airport to Richmond International Airport on May 13, 2026, a 53-minute hop in its Gulfstream G450. The flight arrived just past 4:40 p.m. Eastern.

The trip came the day after a settlement was announced in Dominion Energy South Carolina's electric rate case, as reported by WRDW. The agreement, reached with environmental and consumer groups, would reduce the average residential rate increase from $19.98 to $11.97 per month and provide $6 million in shareholder-funded customer relief. A public hearing before the South Carolina Public Service Commission was scheduled for May 12, the day before this flight. The settlement still requires commission approval, with a decision expected in late June.

This Columbia-to-Richmond leg is part of a pattern of travel between the two capitals. Over the previous two days, the same aircraft flew from Richmond to Columbia and back, suggesting executives were shuttling for the regulatory proceedings. Dominion Energy CEO Robert Blue and CFO Steven Ridge have cited constructive regulatory outcomes as a key priority, per the company's first-quarter earnings call on May 1. With data center demand driving a $65 billion capital plan through 2030, keeping rate cases on track remains essential.
