Dominion Energy
Dominion Energy's Gulfstream G450, tail N607D, touched down at Richmond International Airport on May 15 after a 58-minute flight from Dandridge Seaplane Base in Tennessee. The trip follows a pattern of short-haul hops around the utility's regulated footprint: the aircraft had visited Columbia, South Carolina, and Atlanta earlier in the week.
The return to headquarters comes the same week Dominion Energy reported first-quarter operating earnings of $0.95 per share and confirmed its $65 billion five-year spending plan, as covered by Utility Dive. CEO Robert Blue highlighted that the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project is now more than 75% complete and delivered first power to the grid in March, with full commissioning expected by June 2027. The company also disclosed plans for a multi-billion-dollar combined-cycle gas plant in Cumberland County, Virginia, to meet surging data-center demand.
The flight from Dandridge—a small airport near Knoxville—may reflect a visit to a project site or a meeting in the Tennessee Valley, though Dominion Energy does not operate in Tennessee. The broader travel pattern suggests a busy quarter of regulatory hearings, investor communications, and construction oversight as the utility navigates a period of record capital expenditure and load growth.
