Dominion Energy
Dominion Energy flew from Norfolk to Richmond on the evening of May 18, a 28-minute hop in its Gulfstream G450, tail number N607D. The short coastal leg follows a run from the company’s South Carolina service territory earlier the same day, a pattern of shuttling between operational sites and the Richmond headquarters.
The flight lands the same week Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project delivers first power to the grid — a milestone CEO Bob Blue called “remarkable” on the company’s first-quarter earnings call, per Utility Dive. The $11.4 billion, 176-turbine facility is now 75% complete and on track for full commissioning in early 2027, the company said. Nine turbines were installed as of late April, with installation averaging two days per turbine.
The trip fits a broader rhythm: Dominion Energy’s aircraft has made multiple loops between Richmond and its South Carolina operations this month, reflecting a company managing a $65 billion, five-year capital plan amid surging data-center demand and a major offshore wind buildout. The May 18 Norfolk visit likely involved final-stage reviews of the wind project before returning the CEO to headquarters for the week ahead.
