Dominion Energy
Dominion Energy flew from Hummel Seaplane Base in New Jersey to London Stansted Airport on June 6, a brief transatlantic hop aboard its Gulfstream G450 (N607D). The flight lasted just over an hour and a half, reaching 30,000 feet and a top speed of 456 knots.
The trip comes the same week the company is navigating the fallout from its planned $67 billion all-stock acquisition by NextEra Energy, announced May 18. The merger, which would create the world's largest regulated electric utility, requires approvals from regulators in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and federal agencies, according to NextEra's SEC filing. Dominion Energy's CEO Robert Blue is expected to serve as president and CEO of regulated utilities in the combined company. London is a hub for international energy finance and regulatory discussions, making the trip a plausible venue for investor meetings or regulatory consultations.
Dominion Energy's jet has been busy in recent weeks, shuttling between its Richmond base and destinations including Dallas, New York, and Florida. The June 6 flight to London departs from the typical pattern of domestic hops, signaling the global scope of the merger's implications.
