Dominion Energy
Dominion Energy flew from a seaplane base off Long Island, New York, to London Stansted Airport on the evening of June 6, arriving just past midnight local time. The Gulfstream G450, tail N607D, made the 2-hour 8-minute crossing at 30,000 feet.
The trip lands the Richmond-based utility in Britain the same week it is pursuing regulatory approval for a $67 billion all-stock merger with NextEra Energy, per a May 18 SEC filing. The deal, which would create the world's largest regulated electric utility, requires sign-offs from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and state commissions in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina — and Dominion Energy has signaled it is meeting with investors and stakeholders globally. London is a frequent hub for energy-sector finance and regulatory roadshows.
The flight follows a busy pattern of domestic travel from Dominion Energy's home base at Richmond International Airport. In the past month, N607D has shuttled between Richmond and destinations including Dallas Love Field, Charlotte Douglas, and Gardiners Island, New York, according to flight history on celebplanes. The London leg suggests face-to-face talks with international investors as the merger clock ticks toward its projected 12-to-18-month close.
