Dominion Energy
Dominion Energy flew from the Hummel Seaplane Base in New Jersey to London Stansted Airport on Saturday evening, landing shortly after midnight local time aboard its Gulfstream G450, N607D. The two-hour transatlantic hop originated from an unusual departure point — 16NJ — rather than the company’s typical Richmond base.
The same week Dominion Energy’s planned $67 billion all-stock acquisition by NextEra Energy is drawing close examination from U.K. and European regulators, who are reviewing the deal’s impact on energy markets and competition. The merger, announced May 18, 2026, will create the world’s largest regulated electric utility business, serving about 10 million customer accounts across Florida, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, per a company filing with the SEC. The London arrival may be related to those cross-border approval processes or investor meetings tied to the transaction.
This is Dominion Energy’s first international trip in recent weeks; the company’s prior flights were all domestic loops out of Richmond, Virginia, its home base. The shift to a London destination suggests the regulatory and financial roadshow for the NextEra deal is now global, as the companies target a 12-to-18-month closing window.
