Dominion Energy
Dominion Energy flew from Richmond to Columbia, South Carolina, on June 9, 2026, a 1-hour-10-minute hop in its Gulfstream G450 (tail N607D) that touched down at Columbia Metropolitan Airport just after noon.
The same week, the utility is in the final stages of a rate case before the Public Service Commission of South Carolina. Per a settlement filed in May and reported by The State, Dominion Energy has proposed raising residential bills by about $12 per month (a 7.6% increase) while offering $6 million in shareholder-funded credits and low-income assistance. A hearing on the proposal began May 12, with public testimony in Columbia earlier that month drawing opposition from customers frustrated by the increase and lingering costs from the V.C. Summer nuclear project. If approved, the new rates would take effect July 1.
The trip follows a pattern of regional movement: on June 6, N607D tracked off the coast of New York before returning toward Richmond. The Columbia visit puts Dominion Energy’s leadership close to the regulatory process as the commission weighs a deal that cuts the original revenue request by more than a third, per the settlement documents filed with the SEC.
