Eastman Chemical
Eastman Chemical flew from Palm Beach to Laurence G Hanscom Field outside Boston on May 17, a 2-hour-58-minute hop in its Gulfstream G450, N494EC. The timing aligns with the J.P. Morgan Industrials Conference, where Eastman Chemical CFO Willie McLain is scheduled to address investors on May 18, according to a Business Wire release.
The conference appearance comes as Eastman Chemical navigates a volatile market. CEO Mark Costa noted in the company’s first-quarter earnings call on May 1 that the Middle East conflict is creating “net upside” for earnings, particularly in the Chemical Intermediates segment, per a BriefGlance.com report. The company is also implementing roughly $500 million in price increases across its portfolio to offset raw-material and distribution inflation.
The Boston trip follows a pattern of Eastman Chemical flights to financial hubs. The same aircraft flew from Kingsport to Washington Dulles on May 11, and from Palm Beach back to Kingsport on May 15. The company’s Kingsport methanolysis facility, which produces recycled PET, is on track to deliver about $30 million in incremental earnings for 2026, per Resource Recycling coverage of the Q1 call.
