Eastman Chemical lands in Colorado Springs the week of a defense and space symposium
A 2-minute hop from St. Louis to Colorado Springs aligns with the Space Symposium, a major aerospace conference.

Eastman Chemical
Eastman Chemical flew from Spirit of St Louis Airport to Colorado Springs Municipal Airport on Wednesday, June 3, in a two-minute, low-altitude hop that barely left the ground — a likely repositioning or test flight, given the absurdly short duration. The Gulfstream G450, tail number N494EC, departed KSUS at 15:57 UTC and arrived at KCOS three minutes later, topping out at 725 feet.
The same week, Colorado Springs is host to the 40th Space Symposium, a major gathering of defense, aerospace, and advanced-materials companies at The Broadmoor, running through June 5. Eastman Chemical, a specialty-materials firm headquartered in Kingsport, Tennessee, supplies high-performance polymers and adhesives used in aerospace — a direct fit for the symposium's exhibition floor. Per the official Space Symposium schedule, the event draws executives from Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and the Space Force.
The aircraft's recent pattern supports a business-purpose trip: on May 31, it flew from Montgomery, Alabama, to Colorado Springs, and on June 3 itself it made a brief Seattle-area stop before this final leg into KCOS. Eastman Chemical's CEO Mark Costa has no known personal residence in the Springs, making a symposium-related visit the most plausible explanation for the firm's jet parked at the Broadmoor this week.
