Elon Musk
Elon Musk flew from Rutherford Ranch Airport to Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport on June 10, a 49-minute hop in the Gulfstream G550 N272BG that ended at the gateway to SpaceX’s Starbase operations.
The same week, Musk shared a rendering of SpaceX’s AI1 satellite—a data-center-in-orbit concept with 70-meter solar panels and 120 kilowatts of compute power, per Bloomberg. He also confirmed plans for the Terafab, a 100-million-square-foot semiconductor plant in Grimes County, Texas, that received a controversial 35-year tax abatement on June 4 despite resident pushback, as reported by Houston Public Media.
The flight follows a busy week: Musk’s aircraft logged trips from Memphis to San Jose, Los Angeles to San Francisco, and multiple East Coast legs, likely tied to xAI’s ongoing legal battles—a new class-action lawsuit over data-center noise in Southaven, Mississippi, was filed June 9, per Crypto Briefing. For Musk, the short hop to Brownsville is a return to the launchpad, both literal and figurative.
