Fifth Third
Fifth Third flew from Addison Airport to William P. Hobby Airport on June 15, a 1-hour 26-minute hop that lands the bank's Challenger 300 in Houston the same week it is deepening its footprint across Texas. The bank recently announced it is establishing its Texas regional headquarters in Dallas at Preston Center, with plans to open 150 new branches in the state by 2029, per Dallas Innovates.
The trip follows Fifth Third's merger with Comerica, which closed on February 1, 2026, and the bank is on track to convert all systems over Labor Day weekend, according to an SEC filing from the Morgan Stanley US Financials Conference on June 10. CEO Tim Spence told American Banker the integration has gone well, with $657 million in merger costs incurred so far.
This Houston visit is part of a broader pattern: recent flights show Fifth Third moving between Cincinnati, Chicago, New York, and Dallas as the bank executes its post-merger strategy. The bank reiterated second-quarter guidance at the Morgan Stanley conference, with net interest income expected between $2.20 billion and $2.25 billion.
