Hess
Hess flew from the New York area to Henderson, Nevada, on May 19, 2026, in a Gulfstream G650ER that barely left the ground — a brief repositioning from one part of Henderson Executive Airport to another. The flight, logged at zero minutes of travel time, suggests a ground movement rather than a journey.
The same day, a financial analysis published by Kaieteur News revealed that Hess Guyana Exploration Limited had recovered all $3.6 billion in head office contributions from its Stabroek Block operations, leaving the company with an accumulated surplus of $1.74 trillion Guyana dollars — more than Guyana’s entire national budget for 2026. The recovery of investment, per the report, came directly from production earnings under the 2016 production sharing agreement.
The brief ground movement comes weeks after Chevron closed its $53 billion acquisition of Hess Corporation in July 2025, per a Chevron press release, and after Hess shareholders approved the deal in May 2025. Hess’s fleet has been active between New York, Washington, London, and Houston in recent days, reflecting the ongoing integration of the two companies.
