Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey flew from Van Nuys Airport to Monterey Regional Airport on May 20, a 51-minute hop in his 1998 Gulfstream V (N162JC) that covered roughly 230 miles. The flight departed at 5:09 p.m. Pacific and reached 30,000 feet before touching down along California's central coast.
The trip lands the same week his longtime Brentwood home — listed for $28.9 million in 2023 and repeatedly discounted — finally closed escrow in August 2025 at $17 million, a 41% discount according to PEOPLE. Carrey lived in the house for nearly 30 years and the sale comes as he continues what he called a “power-rest” from acting, a break he told Comicbook.com in 2024 was flexible “as soon as a good idea comes your way.”
Monterey is a familiar stop for N162JC. The aircraft has visited the airport before, per recent flight records, and Carrey has known ties to the area. The trip may be personal rather than professional — no film productions or public appearances in Monterey are currently documented — fitting a pattern of reduced activity for an actor who sold his primary residence and is reportedly eyeing a relocation to Maui.
