The trip arrives the same week ConocoPhillips completed the integration of its $16.5 billion acquisition of Marathon Oil, per an April 18 report from EnergyPricesToday.com. The merger, which closed in late 2024, added assets in the Eagle Ford, Bakken, and Permian basins. ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance told the Oil & Gas Journal in February that the company had “been there, done that” on M&A, noting the portfolio was in its best shape ever. The integration has yielded over $1 billion in annualized synergies.
The Gulfstream V’s recent flight history shows a series of short hops across the Upper Midwest over the past two days, including stops in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. The pattern suggests site visits or operational reviews tied to Marathon Oil’s legacy Bakken and Eagle Ford positions, now folded into ConocoPhillips’ Lower 48 portfolio.
