Marathon Oil
Marathon Oil flew from MBS International Airport in Michigan to Chippewa Valley Regional Airport in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on the evening of May 14, 2026, a 71-minute hop aboard the Gulfstream V N540M.
The trip lands in Eau Claire the same week ConocoPhillips confirmed it has completed the integration of Marathon Oil, which it acquired in a $22.5 billion all-stock deal that closed in late 2024, per an April 18 report from EnergyPricesToday.com. The combined company has since booked over $1 billion in annualized synergies and now holds more than two decades of Lower 48 drilling inventory, according to ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance. Marathon Oil's corporate existence as a standalone entity is effectively over, but its legacy Gulfstream continues to move former executives and personnel.
This flight follows a pattern of short-haul trips across the Midwest and Great Lakes region over the past two days, including stops in Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Eau Claire is not a known Marathon Oil operational hub; the arrival may relate to personal travel or a private event for former Marathon staff now working under the ConocoPhillips umbrella.
