Marathon Oil
Marathon Oil flew from Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Toledo, Ohio, on May 28, a brief 35-minute hop in its Gulfstream V (N540M). The flight departed Gerald R. Ford International Airport just before noon and landed at Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport at 12:30 p.m. Eastern.
The same week, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is holding a technical conference on the proposed Rover Pipeline expansion, per a FERC docket notice published May 22. Marathon Oil, which merged with ConocoPhillips in November 2024, maintains significant natural gas production in the Appalachian Basin and is a key shipper on the Rover system. The Toledo area is a major pipeline and refining hub, making this a logical destination for discussions with regulators or midstream partners.
The flight continues a pattern of short-haul trips across the Midwest this week. Over the preceding three days, N540M visited Madison, Wisconsin; Flint, Michigan; and Akron, Ohio — all within the Great Lakes region where Marathon Oil’s upstream and midstream assets are concentrated.
