Max Verstappen flew from Amsterdam Schiphol to Florence on June 11, arriving just before noon local time in his Dassault Falcon 900EX, PH-DTF. The 1-hour-39-minute hop, cruising at 41,000 feet, came two days after his private jet made a round trip from the UK to the Netherlands, per flight data.
The trip to Florence occurs the same week Verstappen prepares for the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, where Red Bull is introducing a small upgrade package to the RB22, as reported by Motorsport.com. The team confirmed an engine issue caused his Monaco retirement on the opening lap, with team principal Laurent Mekies stating the power unit was already scheduled for replacement after that race, per PlanetF1.com.
Verstappen's brief return to the Netherlands on June 9, after a stop in England likely to visit Red Bull's Milton Keynes factory, underscores a season of disruption. The four-time world champion, seventh in the drivers' standings, now faces a critical weekend in Barcelona to assess whether the upgrades can reverse Red Bull's slide to fourth in the constructors' championship.
