Max Verstappen flies to Paris after a tense Red Bull meeting in Germany
The four-time champion lands at Le Bourget the same week he met Red Bull's owners to discuss the 2026 season — but not his future.

Max Verstappen flew from Kronach Airfield in Germany to Paris-Le Bourget on June 16, a 57-minute hop in his Dassault Falcon 900EX, registration PH-DTF. The departure airfield sits near Red Bull's Austrian headquarters, where Verstappen met with co-owners Mark Mateschitz and Chalerm Yoovidhya just days earlier, per De Telegraaf.
The meeting, which Verstappen confirmed to Viaplay was “planned anyway,” covered only the 2026 F1 season — not his contract, which runs through 2028 but includes a potential release clause. “If anything happens on my end, I’ll let you know,” Verstappen said, per Motorsport Next-Gen. The trip to Paris comes after a “lonely” fourth-place finish at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, where Verstappen admitted Red Bull “need to work harder,” as reported by Formula1.com.
Recent flight patterns show Verstappen's jet shuttling between his Avignon base, Amsterdam, and race circuits. The Paris stop may signal a sponsor appearance or media day ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix later this month — but, like his future, the itinerary remains his own business.
