A MGM Resorts Embraer Legacy 500, tail N783MM, touched down in Macau on May 12 after a multi-leg journey from Las Vegas via Anchorage and Tokyo. The aircraft, part of a fleet used to shuttle executives and high-rollers, arrived as the company's China subsidiary released first-quarter results showing net revenue up 10% year-on-year to HK$8.8 billion, with daily mass gross gaming revenue hitting an all-time high, per a company filing on April 29.
The timing aligns with MGM China's plans to renovate suites at MGM MACAU and the recent opening of Prime Wellness Suites at MGM COTAI, moves CEO Kenneth Feng characterized as investments in "competitive advantages to support future growth" in the filing. The trip comes after MGM Resorts CEO Bill Hornbuckle told analysts on the earnings call that the company remains "under-suited" in Macau and intends to add hotel capacity, as reported by igamingbusiness.com.
MGM Resorts reported $4.5 billion in consolidated net revenue for Q1, with MGM China contributing $1.1 billion. The Las Vegas-based operator's regular use of its private fleet to reach Macau underscores the market's outsized role in the company's global strategy, even as Las Vegas Strip revenue eked out its first year-over-year gain since late 2024.
