MGM Resorts flew one of its Embraer Legacy 500s to Macau International Airport on May 12, 2026, arriving from Tokyo. The aircraft, tail N783MM, had spent the day circling the Macau peninsula before landing — a pattern that suggests the jet was repositioned or used for short-range shuttling between the company's Cotai and peninsula properties.
The same week, MGM China opened 124 new premium suites at MGM Cotai, converted from three floors of existing hotel space to target the high-end mass market, per GGRAsia. The move comes as MGM China reported record daily mass gross gaming revenue in the first quarter of 2026, with net revenue up 10% year-on-year to HK$8.8 billion, according to a company filing. CEO Kenneth Feng said the suite conversion was completed ahead of the May Golden Week holiday.
The Macau visit follows a recent flight from Tokyo, where MGM Resorts is developing the MGM Osaka integrated resort with partners, slated to open in late 2030. Bill Hornbuckle has called the Japan project "the largest and most successful integrated resort since Marina Bay Sands." The Macau stop keeps the company's leadership close to both its Chinese operations and its Asian expansion pipeline.
