MGM Resorts International landed one of its Embraer Legacy 500s, tail N783MM, at Harry Reid International Airport on May 27 after a 44-minute hop from Hollywood Burbank Airport. The flight arrived at 10:30 p.m. local time, capping a short round trip that had the jet heading west earlier the same day.
The quick Burbank rotation adds to a pattern of frequent shuttling between the Strip and Southern California. According to recent flight logs, the same aircraft moved between MGM Resorts' home base and Burbank or Van Nuys five times in the preceding week alone. These aren't airstrip tourism; MGM Resorts maintains a fleet of six corporate jets used to move executives and, as the company's standard practice documents, to ferry high-value casino clients between markets.
No major public event, investor conference or regulatory deadline in Burbank this week explains the May 27 trip. It appears to be routine repositioning or client transport, consistent with MGM Resorts' known shuttle beat between the Los Angeles basin and Las Vegas. Sometimes a flight is just a ride home.
