Mukesh Ambani flew from Mumbai to Doha on May 14, 2025, aboard his Boeing 737 MAX 9 BBJ, VT-AKV. The trip landed him in Qatar the same week U.S. President Donald Trump arrived for a state visit hosted by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Ambani was among a select group invited to a state dinner at the Lusail Palace, per a Reuters report this week. No formal business discussions were planned, but the meeting underscores ties that span Reliance's partnerships with U.S. tech giants like Google and Meta, and Qatar Investment Authority's roughly $1 billion stake in his retail venture. It was Ambani's second meeting with Trump since the president returned to office in January.

The flight is a familiar route: Ambani's jet has visited Doha repeatedly, and his business interests in the Gulf run deep. Reliance also sells fuels refined from Russian crude into the U.S. market, a business closely watched by the Trump administration.
