Mukesh Ambani
Mukesh Ambani flew from Mumbai to Doha on May 12, 2026, aboard his Boeing 737 MAX 9 BBJ, VT-AKV. The flight arrived the same evening the Emir of Qatar hosted U.S. President Donald Trump at a state dinner at the Lusail Palace, where Ambani was among a select group of invitees, per a report from Firstpost and BW Businessworld.
The dinner capped a day that saw Trump witness the signing of a record $96 billion Qatar Airways-Boeing wide-body jet order — the largest in Boeing's history. Ambani's presence underscores his ties to both the Trump administration and Qatar's sovereign wealth fund, QIA, which has invested roughly $1 billion in Reliance's retail arm. This is Ambani's second meeting with Trump since the president's January inauguration.
The trip follows a pattern of high-stakes networking for the Reliance chairman: earlier this year he attended Trump's inauguration and a pre-inaugural candlelit dinner. With Reliance planning a $7 trillion investment in Gujarat over five years and a potential Jio IPO on the horizon, per The Hindu and Business Standard, Ambani's Doha detour reads less as a social call and more as a strategic layover.
