Mukesh Ambani flew from Navi Mumbai to Navi Mumbai on May 11, a brief local hop that nonetheless lands him at home the same week his conglomerate, Reliance Industries, is making two major operational moves.
According to a Business Standard report on May 11, Reliance is revising its Jio Platforms IPO to offer entirely new shares, a major shift that could see the draft prospectus filed within days and a listing as soon as July. Separately, the government confirmed on May 6 that Reliance will begin a maintenance shutdown at its Jamnagar refinery — the world's largest single-site complex — in the second half of May, after Nayara Energy resumes operations.
Ambani's Boeing 737 MAX 9 BBJ, VT-AKV, had been active on short hops around Mumbai in recent days. The flight, which reached just 4,925 feet and 203 knots, suggests a repositioning or test movement ahead of what promises to be a busy month for India's most valuable company.
