Mukesh Ambani
Mukesh Ambani's Boeing 737 MAX 9 BBJ, VT-AKV, didn't actually go anywhere on May 11 — the flight data shows a brief hop from Navi Mumbai to Navi Mumbai, barely climbing above 5,000 feet. It's a rare idle moment for a jet that typically shuttles between Mumbai, Tokyo, Bangkok, Dubai, and the Maldives.
But the same week, Mukesh Ambani was in Doha — per Reuters and Firstpost — attending a state dinner at the Lusail Palace hosted by Qatar's Emir for U.S. President Donald Trump. It was his second meeting with Trump since the inauguration, and it came as Qatar's sovereign wealth fund, QIA, holds roughly $1 billion in Reliance's retail arm. No business discussions were on the agenda, according to sources cited by Reuters, but the guest list alone signals the kind of access that doesn't require a flight plan.
Ambani's travel patterns tend to follow the calendar of global power: the Jamnagar pre-wedding gala in 2024, the Trump inauguration dinner in January, and now a state dinner in Doha. The jet may have stayed home, but the itinerary was written in diplomatic ink.
