NextEra Energy flies from London to Zürich amid European energy summit

NextEra Energy
NextEra Energy arrived in Zürich on June 9, touching down at LSZH after a short hop from London Stansted aboard its Embraer Praetor 600, tail N31MW. The flight, just over an hour in the air, followed a longer transatlantic crossing from Florida earlier in the week.
The Zürich trip comes the same week as the World Utilities Congress Europe, a major gathering of power-sector executives and regulators. For John Ketchum, the timing is pointed: NextEra Energy is still digesting its $67 billion acquisition of Dominion Energy, announced in May and described by analysts as a bet that the AI boom will bottleneck on electricity, not chips. The deal, covered by POWER magazine, gives NextEra Energy a direct line into the data-center-heavy PJM grid. Ketchum has been making the rounds with investors and regulators, and Zürich offers a stage to sell the combined company’s scale to a global audience.
The pattern fits. In the week prior, NextEra Energy flew to Houston and then across the Atlantic to Shannon and London, likely connecting with gas-turbine suppliers and European partners. These moves track with Ketchum’s public strategy of building 2-to-5-gigawatt hubs for hyperscalers, as reported by Utility Dive. The Praetor 600 shuttles the CEO between boardrooms; Zürich is simply the latest stop in a year of consolidation.”]
