Occidental Petroleum flew from West Houston Airport to Midland International Air and Space Port on Thursday morning, a 1-hour 26-minute hop aboard its Embraer ERJ-175 (tail N170XY). The flight landed at 1:26 p.m. local time.
Occidental Petroleum arrives in Midland the same week the Permian Basin International Oil & Gas Summit opens, per the event's schedule published by the Midland Chamber of Commerce. The summit, which runs June 4-5, gathers operators, regulators, and financiers to discuss drilling economics, carbon capture, and the region's production outlook — topics squarely in CEO Vicki Hollub's lane.
The trip follows three days of shuttle movements between Occidental Petroleum's Houston headquarters and various Permian Basin airfields, including recent flights to Winkler County Airport and Midland on June 2 and 3. The ERJ-175, configured as an employee shuttle, routinely ferries engineers and executives to Occidental Petroleum's West Texas fields. This week's conference gives the connection a specific, newsworthy anchor.
