Ron DeSantis flew from Tallahassee to Palm Beach on May 12, 2026, aboard the state-owned Cessna Citation Latitude N943FL, a 15-minute repositioning flight that arrived just after 3 p.m. local time.
The trip lands the same week the DeSantis administration is backing plans to close Alligator Alcatraz, the state-run immigration detention facility in the Everglades, according to a report by the Miami Herald. The governor told reporters Thursday that discussions with the Department of Homeland Security about shuttering the site began after Markwayne Mullin was confirmed as DHS secretary in late March, and that the facility was always intended as a temporary bridge for federal operations.
The flight follows a busy week of in-state travel: DeSantis flew from Tallahassee to Jacksonville on May 11, then to Fort Myers, before returning to the capital. The Palm Beach area is a recurring destination for the governor, who maintains a residence there and frequently uses the airport for official and political events.
