Ron DeSantis
Ron DeSantis flew from Jacksonville to Tallahassee on May 22, 2026, a short hop north aboard the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Cessna Citation Latitude (N943FL). The flight, barely 150 miles, left Jacksonville just after 10 a.m. local time.
The same week, state lawmakers are in Tallahassee ironing out final details of the education funding package, per Florida Politics. DeSantis, who has made school choice a signature issue, is expected to sign the bill in the coming days. The Governor’s office routinely pairs official business with bill signings; his schedule shows no public events in Jacksonville this week.
DeSantis made the same Tallahassee-to-Jacksonville round trip on May 18, suggesting a recurring pattern of official business between the two cities. The state jet, owned by FDLE, is used exclusively for executive travel in accordance with Florida law, as the Governor’s office has noted in past statements to the press.
