Ron DeSantis flew from Tallahassee to Orlando International Airport on Monday afternoon, landing at 12:27 p.m. after a 42-minute hop in the state’s Cessna Citation Latitude, N943FL. The aircraft, owned by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, is used for executive-protection transport and routinely shuttles the governor between the capital and major metro areas.
The trip lands DeSantis in Orlando the same week Florida lawmakers return to the capital for a special session on property insurance reform, scheduled to begin Wednesday, per a Florida Politics report. The session aims to address rising premiums and insurer solvency after Hurricane Milton and Ian losses. The governor’s schedule frequently includes Orlando, a recurring destination for official business and political events.
The aircraft’s recent flights show a pattern of travel between Tallahassee and central Florida, including a round trip to Orlando on June 2 and multiple trips to the Tampa and Jacksonville areas. Monday’s brief flight — consuming roughly 200 gallons of jet fuel and emitting about two metric tons of CO₂ — fits that routine, with the state capital as home base and Orlando as a hub for legislative and administrative work.
