Target flew a Gulfstream G280 (tail N686BE) from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport to Destin Executive Airport on May 19, 2026, a 13-minute hop across the Panhandle. The aircraft had arrived in the region earlier that day from the Dallas–Fort Worth area, and the brief final leg to Destin suggests a transfer of executives or crew to a coastal location.
The same week, Target's new chief executive, Michael Fiddelke, is in the midst of executing an aggressive turnaround strategy unveiled in March, per Reuters and CNBC. Fiddelke, who took over on February 1, has pledged to spend $5 billion this year — including $1 billion on new stores and remodels — to revive sales after 12 consecutive quarters of weakness. The company reported a 2% sales growth forecast for 2026, its first annual sales, its first rise in three years, and is overhauling home and beauty categories, including the launch of a Target Beauty Studio in 600 stores this fall.
The Destin area, a popular Gulf Coast retreat, is not a known Target corporate hub, but the flight pattern — including recent trips from Minneapolis to Dallas and Washington, D.C. — reflects the peripatetic schedule of a retailer trying to win back shoppers and investors. The company's three-aircraft Gulfstream fleet keeps executives close to stores, vendors, and financial meetings as Fiddelke works to restore Target's "Tarzhay" cachet.
