Truist Financial flew from Chicago Midway to Charlotte Douglas on May 12, a 1-hour 25-minute hop in its Cessna Citation Latitude, N405T. The trip closed out a two-day stay in the Chicago area, following a flight from Charlotte to Chicago the day before.
The return to Charlotte comes the same week Truist Financial set a new long-term profitability target of 16% to 18% return on tangible common equity, as reported by American Banker on April 17. The bank also expanded its open banking capabilities in recent months, first with Mastercard in February and then with Plaid in March, per Truist Financial’s own news releases. CEO Bill Rogers discussed the bank’s momentum and higher buyback plans during the first-quarter earnings call.
The May 11 Chicago leg fits a pattern: Truist Financial’s aircraft has made multiple trips to and from Charlotte in recent days, including a May 6 flight to Atlanta and a May 5 flight to Boston. The bank’s headquarters and its top executives are based in Charlotte, making KCLT the natural hub for these business trips.
