Tyler Perry flew from Provincetown Municipal Airport to Teterboro Airport on the night of June 6, a 1-hour-23-minute hop aboard his Embraer E-190, N378TP. The trip landed just after 9 p.m. local time, putting the Atlanta-based filmmaker and studio owner within a half-hour drive of midtown Manhattan.
The same week, the Tony Awards are scheduled for June 7 at Radio City Music Hall, as announced by the Broadway League and American Theatre Wing. Teterboro is the preferred point of entry for executives and talent attending the ceremony, which draws producers, directors, and performers from across the entertainment industry. Perry, whose studio produces stage and screen work, has often used the airport for New York business.
The flight follows a recent trip over the Atlantic to coordinates off Nova Scotia, a pattern consistent with travel to Perry's private islands in the Bahamas. The Provincetown departure, however, suggests a stop on Cape Cod before the awards swing—Perry is known to visit the area during the summer season, balancing leisure with industry events.
