Bank of America flew from Old Kingsbury Aerodrome in southeast Texas to Long Island MacArthur Airport on Tuesday afternoon, a 3-hour-11-minute trip aboard Gulfstream G280 N228BA that touched down just after 12:35 p.m. Eastern. The aircraft reached 45,025 feet and a ground speed of 517 knots over the 1,400-nautical-mile leg—a brisk crossing for a super-midsize jet.
The same week, Bank of America’s consumer-banking and wealth-management executives are expected at the Bernstein Strategic Decisions Conference, which runs May 27–29 in Midtown Manhattan, per the event’s published agenda. Brian Moynihan, the bank’s CEO, typically uses the conference to address institutional investors and analysts. Long Island MacArthur sits roughly 50 miles east of Manhattan, a common staging airport for corporate jets avoiding the congestion at JFK and LaGuardia.
The trip follows a pattern of Texas-to-New York movement by Bank of America’s fleet this month. Over the past two weeks, at least four flights have shuttled between the Dallas–Fort Worth area and San Antonio—likely tied to the bank’s large commercial and wealth operations in Texas—before connecting to the Northeast. Tuesday’s arrival signals a scheduling shift toward the bank’s second-quarter investor and board engagements in the New York region.
