Boston Scientific
Boston Scientific flew from Hanscom Field in Boston to Cincinnati Municipal Airport Lunken Field on June 15, a 2-hour-and-4-minute hop in its Bombardier Challenger 650, registration N650BS. The flight touched down just after 8 a.m. local time.
The same week, the company is moving forward with a $138 million distribution center in Plainfield, Indiana, about 100 miles northwest of Cincinnati, as reported by MedTech Dive. The 500,000-square-foot facility, announced by Indiana Governor Mike Braun, will create up to 300 jobs and handle global distribution of medical devices, complementing existing sites in Georgia, Massachusetts, and Minnesota. Cincinnati, a regional aviation hub, offers convenient access to the construction site and Boston Scientific’s nearby manufacturing plant in Spencer, Indiana.
The trip follows a pattern of increased Midwest travel: earlier in June, Boston Scientific’s aircraft flew to Minneapolis and Baltimore, reflecting ongoing operational investments. The company also recently invested $1.5 billion in MiRus LLC for a TAVR valve stake, per a May 18 press release, but the Cincinnati visit appears tied to the distribution expansion.
