Boston Scientific
Boston Scientific flew from McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad to Hollywood Burbank Airport on Tuesday afternoon, a 24-minute hop in its Bombardier Challenger 650 (N650BS). The flight arrived just before 1:20 p.m. local time, capping a day that began with the jet positioned near San Diego.
The trip landed the same week Boston Scientific continues work on its $1.5 billion strategic investment in MiRus LLC, announced May 18, per the company’s SEC filing. The deal gives Boston Scientific a 34% stake and an exclusive option to acquire MiRus’s Siegal TAVR system for up to $3 billion more [sec.gov](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/885725/000088572526000041/bsx-20260518.htm). Southern California is home to several medical device firms and clinical trial sites that could be relevant as Boston Scientific evaluates the Siegal valve’s STAR pivotal trial [cardiovascularbusiness.com](https://cardiovascularbusiness.com/topics/clinical/structural-heart-disease/tavr/boston-scientific-invests-15b-mirus-option-buy-its-tavr-business).
The brief flight followed a multi-day business swing: the aircraft was in the Minneapolis area June 8 and June 11, and near Columbus, Ohio, on June 15 before arriving in San Diego County. Boston Scientific’s home base is Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts, but the Challenger 650 has logged a steady rhythm of trips to clinical and corporate outposts in recent weeks.
