Carlos Slim
Carlos Slim flew from Zamora to Puerto Vallarta on June 4, a 38-minute hop in his Gulfstream G550 (XA-ATL) that touched down just before 4:30 p.m. local time. The short trip from Michoacán to the Jalisco coast comes at the end of a busy week for the 86-year-old magnate.
Slim arrived in Puerto Vallarta the same week he announced a $5 billion investment in Mexico for 2026, per a report from Vivo Noticias, with funds earmarked for energy, infrastructure, and telecommunications — including continued work on the Ixachi gas field and Telcel's network expansion. The announcement, made during his annual conference at Grupo Financiero Inbursa, also included pointed remarks about the government's failure to grant Telmex a pay-TV concession, as covered by Yucatán.com.mx.
The flight follows a pattern of short domestic hops — Slim's recent flights have largely shuttled between Mexico City, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, and other points in Michoacán and Guerrero, consistent with a man who oversees a sprawling empire from multiple homes and meeting sites. Puerto Vallarta has long been a secondary residence for Slim, making this a plausible end to a week of business and press obligations.
