Caterpillar flew its Bombardier Global 6000, tail N797CT, from Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, Brazil, to Perot Field in Fort Worth, Texas, on the morning of May 28. The 9-hour 43-minute flight originated near São Paulo, a hub for Caterpillar's Brazilian operations and mining customers.
The arrival at Fort Worth comes in the same week the Offshore Technology Conference convenes in Houston—the premier global event for the offshore energy industry, as noted by OTC's official schedule. Caterpillar, via its Cat power and marine divisions, is a major exhibitor and supplier to oil-and-gas operators. The flight's proximity to OTC suggests executive travel to meet energy-sector clients, rather than a routine return to headquarters.
This routing follows a pattern evident from the aircraft's recent flights: a May 26 leg from the Dallas area to Campinas, preceded in May by trips to Washington D.C. from Peoria and from California back to Texas. The fleet's regular visits to Houston (KIAH) and this São Paulo-to-Texas connection align with Caterpillar's heavy exposure to mining and energy markets, per the company's investor materials.
