Chevron's Boeing Business Jet lands in Midland days after Project Kilby power deal
If aboard, Chevron's leadership would arrive in the Permian Basin the same week the Microsoft data-center pact was announced.

Chevron's Boeing Business Jet, tail N884GL, was tracked flying from Lakeway Airpark near Austin to Midland International Air and Space Port on June 25, a 44-minute hop that reached 40,000 feet. The aircraft departed just after midday and touched down in the heart of the Permian Basin.
If Chevron's senior leadership was aboard, the timing would align with the company's blockbuster 20-year power agreement with Microsoft, announced on June 22. Per a Bloomberg report, the Project Kilby natural-gas plant near Pecos will deliver up to 2.67 gigawatts to a Microsoft data center, with first power expected in 2028. Chevron subsidiary Energy Forge One is developing the co-located facility alongside Engine No. 1, and a final investment decision is due by year-end. A visit to the region would be a natural next step for executives reviewing site progress.
The flight continues a pattern of Permian Basin movements: the same aircraft made multiple hops to and from the Midland area on June 17, including a short leg between nearby airports. Chevron's fleet, heavy on business jets and rotorcraft, regularly shuttles personnel between Houston headquarters and West Texas operations, where the company is leveraging its natural-gas position to power the AI boom.
