Corning’s Falcon 900, tail N38CG, touched down at Elmira Corning Regional Airport at 3:07 p.m. on May 14 after a 1-hour, 23-minute flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The trip follows a busy week of travel for the company’s flight department, which had shuttled executives between Corning, Charlotte, and New York City.

The return to headquarters comes the same week Corning and NVIDIA announced a long-term partnership to expand U.S. manufacturing of optical connectivity for AI data centers, per a May 6 news release from Corning. The deal includes a multibillion-dollar prepayment from NVIDIA to help fund three new manufacturing plants in North Carolina and Texas, as reported by Reuters on May 7. Corning also upgraded its Springboard plan, targeting a $30 billion annualized sales run rate by 2028.

The Charlotte stopover likely reflects the company’s growing ties to the Southeast, where its new facilities will be built. With seven aircraft in its fleet, Corning’s flight department is unusually large for a company its size—a necessity when your CEO is helping build the physical backbone of the AI boom.
